Zwaanendael Museum to Open for July 4 Holiday

LEWES - For the first time, the Zwaanendael Museum will be open on the July Fourth holiday, with special activities for families. The museum hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and admission is free. Museum exhibits include:
- New War of 1812 exhibit-See how Delaware participated in the war that inspired America's national anthem. A special presentation will occur at the start of every hour.
- Lewes Beach shipwreck artifacts-View recently recovered samples of mid-18th-century cargo from a shipwreck off Lewes Beach and learn about Delaware's maritime trade just before the Revolutionary War.
- Activities for kids-Museum scavenger hunt, build-a-boat, nautical knot-tying, colonial games, and more.
