A Letter from the Secretary of State Jeffrey W. Bullock
Jeffrey W. Bullock, Secretary of State

It is a great privilege to serve Gov. Carney and my fellow Delawareans as Secretary of State. Throughout my career in public service, no job I’ve held has provided me with a better opportunity to help make our state a great place to earn a living and raise a family.

I’m particularly proud of the wide-ranging mission of the Department of State and our diverse collection of divisions that interact with people from all walks of life each and every day. These agencies can be grouped into three major missions:

  • Business – Serving professionals and entrepreneurs here in Delaware, and the biggest companies across the globe.
  • Culture – Broadening access to arts and cultural resources, preserving our state’s history, and promoting Delaware as a distinctive destination.
  • Public Trust – Ensuring access to public information, protecting consumers and employees, safeguarding civil rights, and serving our veterans and their families.

Our ability to serve the public is directly related to level of collaboration among the agencies under our umbrella. As Delawareans, we expect our government to work efficiently and provide us with the services and information we need in a way that’s easy to navigate and understand. That’s my focus as Secretary of State, and it wouldn’t be achievable without the efforts of hundreds of dedicated public servants working across the Department of State every day.
