The internship program in the Office of the Secretary of State is an exciting opportunity for college students and recent graduates to gain experience in a professional setting, learn more about the policy-making process, and experience state politics at work. Through the completion of the internship program, interns can gain practical skills that will prepare them for future endeavors in public service.
The internship program is a part-time, paid program open to college students and recent graduates with a record of academic excellence and a strong interest in public service. At this time, positions are only available in-person in the Dover office.
Interns are fully integrated into office operations, including assisting with legislative affairs, communications, and administrative work. Interns will be expected to:
Work schedules are flexible, but interns should plan to schedule between 12-20 hours per week for this internship.

Spring Priority Deadline: Applications are no longer being accepted for the Spring term.
Summer Priority Deadline: Friday, May 3rd (June-August)
Fall Priority Deadline: August 23rd (September-December)
To be considered for an internship, applicants must fill out the internship form and submit a cover letter, resume, one letter of recommendation, and a writing sample (500-word max.)
