FOIA Requests

Important Notice

This page is intended for Delaware Department of State requests. For more information, or to file a FOIA Request for another Agency, click the link below. If your FOIA request is intended for the Delaware State Police, please direct it to the Department of Safety and Homeland Security (opens in a new window)

Submit a FOIA Request

All FOIA requests must be in writing and must adequately describe the records sought in sufficient detail to enable the Department of State’s Office to locate such records with reasonable effort. The requesting party must be as specific as possible when requesting records. To assist the Department of State in locating the requested records, the Department of State may request that the requesting party provide additional information, such as the types of records, dates, parties to correspondence, and subject matter of the requested records.

Submissions

The Department of State is committed to transparency and openness. Persons submitting requests under Delaware’s Freedom of Information Act may use the State of Delaware’s Online FOIA Request Form.
