Future Leaders Internship Initiative (FLii)
The Future Leaders Internship Initiative (FLii) program is a summer program that provides professional development and opportunities to high-potential high school students eager to gain real-world experiences and better understand pathways to successful careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through government. The program is designed to expose students to government/community experiences within agencies such as the Departments of Technology and Information, State, Agriculture, Labor, Homeland Security, Transportation and Public Health and others.
Interns will complete a case study, developed by our program partners, Leading Youth Through Empowerment (LYTE) Scholars and the Reed Development Group, utilizing analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills gained from exposure to government speakers and developmental workshops.
As part of the program, interns gain hands-on experience while working, collaborating, and listening to government leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and executives of both the public and private sectors.
